Watch And Pray

am very blessed by Ps ARBernard with what he shared last weekend.

Matthew 26:41 (NIV)
Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak

one of the spiritual discipline is prayer.
why do we have to establish a consistent prayer life?
it's not those random moments of the day where you look up and pray. prayers like 'God, please let me catch that train' or 'God, grant me the strength to last through the day' or 'God, thank you for that.'
It should be a set-aside time, an allocated time just for HIM.
Why?
1) Prayer builds focus
2) Prayer developes concentration
- you will know that often, we felt like an hour has passed but in actual fact, only 5 minutes have gone by. haha.
3) Prayer fosters humility
- you humble before Him, to seek Him, for counsel, knowing you have no one else to turn to when you're desperate. That is why, often, kneeling down is the 'position' people get into when they pray.
4) Prayer fosters a dependency on God
5) Prayer builds compassion for others in your life
Prayer is what we call, communicating or relating to Him. :)

why do we then have to watch and pray?
often, we pray for what we want. we don't even know if that's what's destined for us. so we have to watch. (not stare at people when they pray.)
what then do we have to watch out for?

1) watch our thoughts, they lead to our words.
- our words create or become our world
2) watch our words, they become our actions.
3) watch our actions, they turn to our habits.
4) watch your habits, they build your character.
5) watch our character, they lead us to our destiny.

kinda like 'be quick to listen, slow to speak'

all things lead to another. see how it links? you probably heard it before. have you remembered? this is really timely for me. (especially the 'watch' part)
what are your thoughts now? be wary. it leads to your destiny. is that the kind of life/destiny you wanna have?

yay! i'm gonna start catching loads of serials!

work just sucks by the day! it's the people around me at work that keeps me going.
cheering and pushing each other on.
one of the colleague went on 2 weeks leave for a holiday. (everyone is entitled to leaves rite?)
one temp gone back to school.
perm person have yet to come in. heard she's coming in mid-october.
so yups. you counted right, we're short of 3 people! argh!
brings me to think of something Daniel Ong tweeted.

some management level bosses have or are going to be leaving. guess this best describes them. and these are the people who have been kind of looking after our welfare. hais...

well, it's nearing end of sep. we're stepping into the last quarter of 2010.
Time to think forward for some plans in 2011.
come what may, it'll all work out. (faith)
gonna have to also spend some time in my personal closet and connect with the heart, mind and soul.

taboo fun

forgot to include this in yesterday's post. shall do it now before i head out again later for a day of fun ;p

went to haatos to hang out and we decided to play some games that were available there.

one of it was taboo (singapore version) and we were SO impressed by Clarence and how fast his brain works. hahaa!

so here goes, some taboo fun :)

buzzing about

today was a day i feel very accomplished.

I had breakfast with my parents

Went to the hairdressers to cut my hair (and ended up rebonding it instead)

pardon my hair for being extremely flat. it's the first-day-and-i-know-my-hair-is-very-flat-thingy.

met my crusade darlings

met my cousin and her parents to hang out.

back home.

all that within 12 hours.

i feel SO accomplished! =p

hi hi :)
in the mood for blogging, so i'll do this before that mood flies away.
this is gonna be a proper update. so many pictures are coming up. so be warned :P
since the last update(i checked), my grand-aunt was in town. this is all my grand aunts and uncles :) the lady in the brown and green top is my grams! :) so there was a day we brought them to the zoo :) thanks to the teacher-cuzzie (who managed to get the corporate card) so we went in for free! hehe :P yay! using one of the app on my phone :)

i don't know what i was doing. i was thinking of sheltering the bear. haha! :P

made my cousin pose with the white tiger. haha. cuz she's born in the year of the tiger.

on that same day, Mathias came out of his mommy and greeted the world hello! :)

then, had a couple of farewell-dinners with various groups of people for lijia.

attended Joel's 21st. He's a darling i tell you :) even Ying thinks so :) a blessing. and saw many other juniors whom i have not seen for awhile. missed their company :)

and then, had a quite a few CGMs at my place. this was taken when we celebrated Ruby's and Deborah's bday :)

we also had a very very successful steamboat! :) cheers! :)

then, met up my darling besties. Ying's flying off to Japan for work (to teach) for a year (for now). decided to have some 'singaporean' breakkie :)

decided to also celebrate min's bday! :)

there was also the world-cup frenzy! :)

and Mathias turns one month! :)

attended Serene's baptism! :) happy for her :)

wedding of the year!! :) Jacqueline (my cgl) & Reagan! :)

everybody came like they were dressed for prom! haha :)

like 2/3 of the cg :) (more of the working people)

then, i met up with krisy and bear for dinner! :)

proceeded to Esplanade for Tay Kewei's show. like her vocals. she's jazzy-pop-RnB :)

the next day, we also caught "Boeing Boeing". it was such a funny show! enjoyed myself. and it kind of got me addicted to theatre-shows! how?!! hahaha!

then, it was the SOT 2010 graduation weekend!!

ok. this is quite an update :) i hope you're as satisfied as me. hur hur.

well, not exactly an update if you follow on FB and twitter. :p

updates at work, PTL, we had the delayed july bonus update. not alot though (compared to the rig crews. :( ) but, anyways, better than none at all. i'm seriously considering leaving next year. i shall see how. see if any arrangements can be made for some things i wanna do next year. if not, i'll just leave.

hmmm, the colleague on mc is back. so that leaves with one more perm position to be filled. heard some things. hopefully it won't take too long for that person to come in. then i should be fine. OT-ing every alternate day kind of thing. so that i can clear work. the work is not tough, it's just time consuming. with loads of phone-calls in between, it just annoys me. i'm quite impressed with myself so far actually. haha. all in the good hands of the Lord. :)

oh ya! met up with Joce and Lia for lunch one of the days! :) Lia's back after being 3 months in the states! hehe :)))

and erm, my cousin's boy (my nephew) fell down and broke his hand i think. still trying to figure out what exactly happened that he had to have a surgery done. but his arm is in a cast. so yups. will be heading to my cousin's place for dinner later and i can see all of them :) yay!
